As for reliability, Trawick's insurance plans are underwritten by several different financially stable companies. AM Best is the insurance industry authority on insurance company financial stability, Trawick International's travel insurance plans are underwritten by GBG Insurance Limited. They rate GBG Insurance Limited "B++". Some of Trawick's domestic travel and student medical insurance policies are underwritten by Aetna. AM Best gives Aetna an "A". GBG Insurance Limited, Aetna and Trawick are "dedicated to helping people achieve health and financial security by providing easy access to safe, cost-effective, high-quality health care".

Can I purchase a policy if I have already departed on my trip?

Yes, Trawick International’s Safe Travels International and Safe Travels USA may be purchased even if you have already departed on your trip. Safe Travels International/USA Trip Protection must be purchased prior to travel.

When will my coverage become effective?

Trawick International’s travel and medical insurance policies can begin within 24 hours. The earliest effective date is "tomorrow".

    Does Medicare cover foreign travel?

No, Medicare does not provide coverage while outside of the U.S. You should purchase one of Trawick’s international travel insurance policies for possible medical emergencies while traveling outside of your home country.

Do I need travel insurance if I have a Medicare supplement?

Probably. Medigap Plans C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J pay 80% of the billed charges for certain medically-necessary emergency care outside the U.S. after you meet a $250 deductible for the year. The deductible for Plans F and J is $2,000. These Medigap policies cover foreign travel emergency care if it begins during the first 60 days of your trip, and if Medicare doesn’t otherwise cover the care. Foreign travel emergency coverage with Medigap policies has a lifetime limit of $50,000. Check your Medigap plan to determine if you are covered. Medigap plans do not cover medical evacuation or repatriation.

I do not reside in the U.S. or Canada. Am I eligible to purchase travel insurance?

Yes, Trawick International offers international travel and medical insurance policies to world travelers from around the globe. Our Safe Travels international health insurance plans cover anyone traveling outside of their home country.

My travel visa requires medical and evacuation/repatriation coverage or I require a Schengen Visa letter. Does Trawick International offer the required coverage and letter?

Yes. On the Safe Travels insurance plans Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation are covered. A link to a visa letter is included with every purchase confirmation.

I am traveling to a country which is on the US government Travel Warning list. Will I be covered there?

The Safe Travels International and Safe Travels International Cost Saver plans offer War Risk AD&D coverage for some high Risk countries. It covers you if you travel to one of these locations and suffer accidental death or dismemberment. You will not be covered unless this extra coverage was purchased at the time of enrollment. Medical issues, in high risk counties, which are not excluded by the policy would be covered.

I am traveling and I am pregnant. Will your plan cover me?

Yes, on some plans. We cover emergency medical treatment for pregnancy up to $2,500 on Safe Travels International and $1,000 on the Safe Travels USA. The plans do not cover scheduled pre natal visits or the delivery of the baby.

I made my own travel arrangements and did not go through an agency. Can I still get medical coverage from you?

Yes, Trawick International services clients on an individual basis, as well as through insurance agents, travel agents, missionary groups, and other entities

What is the latest date I can purchase travel insurance?

Trawick International Safe Travels insurance plans can be purchased any time prior to or during your trip, with effective dates as early as “tomorrow”. Trip Protection policies can be purchased any time before the trip starts however, some benefits may be more restrictive if not purchased within a specific number of days after the trip payment.

What is the definition of a Pre-Existing Condition?

The Pre-Existing definition varies form plan to plan. Some plans allow Pre Existing Conditions to be covered in full, others pay a lessor benefit, and others exclude the conditions completely. Check the plan brochure to find out about the plan specific definition.

Yes, Trawick International’s travel insurance plans for international travel include a Trip Interruption Benefit. The Trip Interruption Benefit reimburses the cost of one way economy air and/or ground transportation ticket if your Trip is interrupted

If you are traveling to the USA we can increase your accidental death and dismemberment sum up to $500,000 on some ages and $50,000 on others.

If you are not traveling to the USA we can increase your accidental death and dismemberment sum to $1,000,000, on some ages and $50,000 on others.

If you die due to a covered event, any accidental death benefit will be paid to the beneficiary on record with us.  If no one was named, the payment will be paid to the first surviving class in the following order-

1 Your spouse; 2. Your child or children (in equal shares); 3. Your mother or father; 4. Your estate.

I already have medical coverage. Will it cover me while I am traveling?

Some policies cover you and some don't. Some that do may require you to pay for a doctor or hospital visit and then submit a claim to get reimbursed. Check your policy wording or call your agent. Most U.S. medical insurance is not accepted outside the United States and does not provide emergency evacuation or repatriation benefits. Obtaining medical treatment and hospital care abroad can be expensive, and medical evacuation to the U.S. can easily cost more than $50,000. If your insurance policy does not cover you abroad, it is a good idea to consider purchasing a Safe Travels Individual Policy which does.

Do you cover my trip home if there is political unrest, earthquake or other natural disaster?

Yes on plans that offer Political Evacuation benefit. We cover up to $25,000 due to an event which could cause grave physical harm to you.

I noticed the Safe Travels Plans says it is Primary coverage. What does that mean?

Primary means it pays an eligible claim before any other coverage you may have.

Does Trawick offer coverage for trip interruption due to the death of a close family member - not one who is traveling on the particular trip?

Yes, Trawick International’s travel insurance plans for international travel include a Trip Interruption Benefit. The Trip Interruption Benefit reimburses the cost of one way economy air and/or ground transportation ticket if your Trip is interrupted because of certain unforeseen events. On Safe Travels Trip Protection, the plan can cover lost trip expenses for a family member’s death with some restrictions. (See Plan for details).

? How can I get a refund of premium if I am not going to travel?

Refund of total plan cost, minus the processing fee, is considered, if a written request is received by Trawick International prior to the effective date of coverage. If written request is received after the effective date of coverage, the unused portion of the plan cost may be refunded minus a cancellation fee of $10, provided no claim has been submitted. If you purchase the Safe Travels Trip Protection coverage you have a 10 day free look. If during that 10 days you decide you do not want the coverage, you need to return the certificate to us for a full refund. After the10 days the premium is considered fully earned and not refundable.

I am traveling with a friend, life companion, domestic partner or group of people. Can we be on the same application?

Yes. There is no limit to the number of people on one application as long as they have the same travel dates, destination and policy choices. You do not have to be a family member or live in the same house, but they must not be traveling in their home country. They must however meet the eligibility requirements for the plan.

Are there any hidden fees or dues that I need to pay to enroll in coverage?

No. You only pay the rate listed. There are no fees or dues to enroll. There are no fees to renew either.

Do you limit the amount you cover for terrorism?
